Most every small town has a fire department and Leola is one of those small towns. it’s made up of the same, like minded men and women who make up most small volunteer departments. These people have big hearts, a sense of community and a desire to put themselves in harms way for others. There’s a sense of pride too, and sprinkle in a little adrenaline rush and...you get the picture. I was privileged to accompany Michele to their Monday night practice and watch their new Chief as he ran a green member through their engine. Others were rolling hose and checking the truck over. Chief ran each member through the truck operations and one man was showing a video of a cool training he had seen. All stuff I’m familiar with and appreciate. I love these volunteers, no matter where they’re from
